Top 5 Healthy Smoothies Recipes for the Summer

Summer is almost here and with it comes our need for refreshing fruit shakes that will keep us healthy as well. Here are my 5 favorite smoothies for every taste that kids and grown ups will love. They are all very easy to prepare and will take only 5-10 minutes of your time! Feel free to share them with you friends.

Fruit Smoothie with berries and bananas

Recipe for 4 servings!

Smoothie Ingredients:

230 grams of plain non-fat yogurt

2 small ripe bananas

1 cup of chopped fresh or frozen strawberries

1 cup of mixed fresh berries, such as raspberries, blueberries, or blackberries, or a mixture of frozen berries!!

Preparation time is 10 minutes!!

One serving is only about 125 calories!

Preparation Directions:

Put all the ingredients in a blender, blend it at maximum speed for 30 seconds or until the mass becomes smooth and pour into glasses to serve immediately!

Tropical Mango Banana Smoothie

Smoothie Ingredients for 2 glasses:

1/2 ripe mango (ripe peach works as well)
1 ripe banana, cut into slices
3/4 cup of non fat milk (150gr.)
120 ml. of fresh orange juice
2 teaspoons of lemon juice
1 teaspoons of sugar 
2 full spoons of frozen vanilla yogurt

 

Preparation Directions:

1. Peel the mango, cut it into large cubes.  Put into blender with the banana.
2. Add orange juice, non fat milk, lemon juice, yogurt and sugar and blend it at maximum speed until the mass becomes smooth!!
3. Serve ASAP while still cold, you can decorate a cocktail glass with lemon balm!!
One glass of this healthy shake includes:
150 calories, proteins 5 g, fat 2 g (saturated 1 g), 30 g carbohydrates (including sugars 29 g), fiber 1 g!!
 

Banana, Pineapple and Coconut Smoothie (VEGAN)

This healthy vegan smoothie with no sugar will keep you refreshed on those hot summer days that are almost here.

Smoothie Ingredients for 2 serves:

1 large banana

2 cups of fresh pineapple sliced into cubes

1/2 cup coconut milk

1/2 cup of ice cubes

Preparation Directions:

Put all the ingredients into a blender and blend on max speed till the mass becomes smooth. Pour into 2 glasses and serve while still cold!

 

Vegan Blackberries Smoothie for a Clear mind and a Beautiful body

Only 186 calories per serving! This diet drink can be a nutritious afternoon snack or a delicious dessert!

Smoothie Ingredients for 3 servings:

 ½ cup of fresh blackberries

1 cup of frozen blackberries

Optional: you can add one frozen (sliced in pieces) banana or frozen peach to add extra flavors

½ cup of soft tofu

1¼ cup of unsweetened soy milk (or coconut milk if you like it better)

1 tablespoon of fresh peeled and grated ginger (optional)

1 tbsp of maca root powder for energy boost (optional)

Preparation Directions:

Put all the ingredients into a blender and blend on max speed till the mass becomes smooth. Pour into 3 glasses and serve immediately while still cold!

Raspberry and Melon Smoothie

Preparation time: 5 minutes

Smoothie Ingredients for 2 servings:

1/2 frozen melon – peeled, sliced into chunks and with no seeds

100 grams (about half cup) of nonfat vanilla yogurt

1/2 cup of frozen raspberries

3 tablespoons of brown sugar (optional)

Preparation Directions:

Put all the ingredients into a blender and blend on max speed till the mass becomes smooth. Pour into 2 glasses and serve immediately while still cold!
