First I’ll say a few words about Superfoods and super energetic recipes. Superfoods became available to anyone in nature stores. Ancient Supefoods such as Goji berries, Cacao beans, Chia seeds, Maca root powder, Spirulina, Bee Pollen, Acai berries, Blueberries and more became available to anyone at nearby nature stores and can be used in many delicious recipes. Let’s get to know these superfoods a little better.
Superfoods And Their Benefits:
Goji berry is number one herb in traditional Chinese medicine for thousands of years! Goji berries (Lycium barbarum) also known as wolfberries grow in the Himalayas’ valley for many years. These gentle red berries are one of the richest sources of protein on the planet! Goji contains 18 amino acids and over 20 different minerals. Goji causes the body to produce growth hormone (which decreases with age) and that’s why is believed to be anti aging. It’s rich in beta-carotene, antioxidants, and vitamins. Directions for use: add one spoon to porridge, yogurt, Granola, desserts or salads, or you can eat together with nuts or chocolate chips as a healthy snack!
Raw Cacao Beans (Cocoa)
Cacao beans are the number one source of magnesium (the mineral that our body misses the most these days), rich with iron, chromium (balances sugar levels in), balance your brain chemistry, strengthen our bones, rich with antioxidants, are natural laxatives and hormonal balancer. Cacao provides energy and relaxes us, makes us feel happy and in love. Directions for use: add 1-2 teaspoons to your porridge, smoothie, Granola, or salad. You can eat it with a little honey/maple syrup.
It's pollen that bees collect from flowers and bring to the beehive. Pollen is considered the most complete food that exists in nature. It is a rich source of high quality protein; contains all essential amino acids, is very beneficial for memory, rich with minerals, vitamins and enzymes. Directions for use: Add 1-2 teaspoons to your porridge, smoothie, yogurt, Granola or your salad.
Chia seeds are super rich with omega-3 fatty acids, calcium, iron, fiber, antioxidants and more. These are small stimulants – the Incas used to call them “running” food because their runners used to eat a handful of chia seeds, and run all day thanks to energy they got from these seeds! Put 1 teaspoon of seeds in your water bottle and drink them all day long. Directions: add 1-2 teaspoons to your porridge, smoothie, Granola, or salad. The unique biological qualities aren’t ruined in high heat, so chia seeds can be used in baking. Best to soak prior to use – they will swell about ten times than in regular state.
Spirulina is great for purifying the blood, has anti-inflammatory qualities. It strengthens the joints and is rich with antioxidants. Spirulina is a 65 percent complete protein. Directions: start slowly with 1/4 teaspoon and gradually increase to 1-2 teaspoons a day, depending on your taste and digestion issues. Add to shakes, soups, to salads, to energy bars.
Chlorella is great for purifying the blood of heavy metals, and other toxins. It lowers bad cholesterol. The herb is rich in chlorophyll. Chlorella is rich in protein, vitamins, antioxidants and minerals. It balances sugar levels in blood. One teaspoon of chlorella a day is sufficient for most people. Chlorella comes in powder and capsules. The capsules are much more user-friendly.
Peruvian Maca root contains over 20 amino acids, minerals. It is great for hormonal imbalances; it regulates menstruation cycle; improves fertility; relieves menopausal symptoms, antidepressant and is a natural aphrodisiac. Once a month it is recommended to stop taking maca for a week.
Acai berry from Brazil is rich in essential fatty acids, antioxidants, protein, helps in reducing cholesterol, and gives energy only without the side effects of coffee.
